Who We Are
Apuphi ("Apuphi", "we", "us", "our") operates the career platform at www.apuphi.com and its associated mobile applications, APIs, and services (collectively, the "Platform"). Apuphi is incorporated in India and headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, Apuphi is the Data Controller of personal data collected through the Platform. We process personal data in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and any applicable data protection regulations.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Platform — job seekers (candidates), employers, institutions (colleges and universities), and website visitors.
Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the Platform, and limited information from third parties.
Identity & Contact
Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, profile photograph, and account credentials (stored as secure hashes).
Career & Professional
CV / resume contents, work history, education records, certifications, skills, projects, portfolio links, and free-text profile entries.
Interview & Assessment
Video recordings, audio transcriptions, assessment responses, AI interview analysis outputs, and AI-generated reports.
Payment Information
Subscription billing details. Card numbers are not stored by Apuphi — payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant processors.
Usage & Behavioural
Pages visited, features used, job applications submitted, click patterns, session duration, drop-off points, and platform engagement signals.
Technical & Device
IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referrer URLs, and city-level geolocation (not precise GPS).

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Apuphi's business, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. You will be notified via email and given the opportunity to delete your account before any transfer.
Apuphi Score & AI Processing
The Apuphi Score (300–900) is an automated, AI-computed professional credibility index. It draws on your skills, projects, work history, assessments, certifications, and platform engagement — all weighted by your auto-detected professional archetype.
Account Maturity Score (AMS): We compute a hidden fraud-detection signal called the Account Maturity Score. This score is never shown to you or to employers. It is used exclusively for automated fraud gating.
Interview Recordings: Video interviews conducted on the Platform are recorded with your explicit consent obtained before each session. Recordings are accessible only to: (a) you; (b) the employer who conducted the interview; (c) authorised Apuphi admins for support and dispute resolution; and (d) AI processing pipelines to generate your Interview Report.
AI Interview Report: The report analyses your verbal communication, domain knowledge, and role relevance from audio transcription only. No biometric profiling such as facial emotion analysis is performed.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Platform. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie-derived data to third parties.

When you delete your account, we initiate deletion within 30 days. Some data may be retained beyond this window only where required by law or to resolve an ongoing dispute, after which it is permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You have clear, actionable rights over your data. Most can be exercised from account settings. For anything requiring our team's involvement, write to hello@apuphi.com — we respond within 48 hours and resolve within 30 days.
Access
Request a complete copy of the personal data we hold, including your Apuphi Score inputs.
Correction
Update or correct any inaccurate data in your profile at any time via account settings.
Deletion
Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
Portability
Export your entire profile, score history, and application data in a machine-readable format (JSON/CSV).
Withdraw Consent
Withdraw consent for sensitive data processing, interview recordings, or institutional data sharing at any time.
Score Explanation
Request a plain-language explanation of how your Apuphi Score was computed and what actions could improve it.
Opt Out of Communications
Unsubscribe from marketing emails and WhatsApp messages at any time.
Grievance Redressal
Lodge a grievance with our designated Grievance Officer. If unresolved, escalate to the applicable data protection authority.

Security
We implement technical, administrative, and organisational safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.
Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2+. All data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
Access Controls: Role-based access controls limit which Apuphi employees can access personal data.
Incident Response: If a data breach likely to result in risk to your rights occurs, we will notify you and relevant authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@apuphi.com and we will delete the data within 7 days.
Third-Party Links & Affiliates
The Platform contains links to external websites — primarily affiliate course platforms (e.g. Coursera, Udemy, Simplilearn) and job boards surfaced via the Career GPS. When you click these links, you leave Apuphi's environment and enter a third party's platform governed by their own privacy policy.
Apuphi shares only a tracked UTM parameter (no personal data) with affiliate partners for commission attribution.
Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by: (a) posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date; (b) sending an email notification to your registered email address; and (c) displaying an in-app notification on your next login.
Your continued use of the Platform after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree, you may delete your account at any time.
